Why You’re Sitting Here

You’re not stuck because of the home — this is a city trail project currently underway. They’re building the ChoiceOne Bank Trail, a new paved walking/biking path between Fenton and Linden along Silver Lake. Work is happening during daytime hours, so expect intermittent one-lane traffic control through spring and summer 2026.


What’s Causing the Delays

Crews are currently working along the lake to build the wood boardwalk section

  • Work happens 7:00am–5:00pm

  • During work hours, traffic is reduced to one lane and controlled by flaggers or temporary lights

  • Outside of work hours, both lanes are open

How long will this last?

  • Boardwalk construction: winter (weather permitting)

  • Asphalt paving: spring / summer 2026

  • Trail expected to open: late summer 2026

Until then, expect occasional backups during daytime work hours.

Why it’s Worth It

When finished, this trail will:

  • Connect Fenton and Linden safely for walkers and cyclists

  • Add a scenic route along Silver Lake

  • Improve long-term traffic flow and accessibility in the area
